Free Sound Friday: Game Glitch 01

This week’s Free Sound Friday should stir up some nostalgia. Courtesy of Jason Torres, we bring you your favorite glitch from games of old.

Macros

Macro 1: Attack (Amp Envelope)

Macro 2: Release (Amp Envelope)

Macro 3: Master Tune. Re-pitch samples from +/- 24 steps.

Macro 4: Decay (Pitch Envelope). The amount is set to +48. Increasing this parameter will introduce a falling pitch bend. The length of this knob must fit inside the length of the sample or it will not produce any effect. You can always engage the loop to extend short samples.

Macro 5: Loop Engage and Loop Length. At 0.0%, Loop is off. Past 1%, the loop is engaged starting at the end of the sample, with higher values lengthening the loop towards the beginning of the sample.

Macro 6: Loop Compress. This parameter pushes the Loop End Point towards the beginning of the sample making the loop shorter. The Loop Length will adjust relative to the percent set by the Loop Length parameter. With a low percentage Loop Length, you will get a small loop at the end of the sample. Lowering the percent of the Loop Compress will shift that small loop towards the beginning of the sample.

Macro 7: Loop Crossfade. This adjust the amount of crossfade on the loop.

Macro 8: Frequency (Low Pass Filter)

    • You should be able to unzip the file, which should contain an Ableton Project. Just Open up the set (.als) and locate the Rack on the MIDI channel. At the top right hand corner of the Rack is a button that looks like a floppy disk. Clicking this button allows you to save the device to your Live Library.

      Cheers
